Busy July

July has been a very busy month for our busy lady. There have been so many milestones, many of which I was fortunate to witness. Every day she amazes us with something new.

It has been almost a month since my last posts, so I thought I'd better give you the updates.

Shana's Milestones

Crawling - She has learned to crawl, well rather creep with her tummy on the floor. She still rolls to get to places most of the time, but she can crawl pretty fast when there is important business to take care of like pulling a shower door seal or a doggie collar.

Sitting herself up - A few weeks ago, for the first time she pushed herself to a sitting position without help. She was playing on her tummy, and the next second she was sitting up. It took me a few seconds before I realized that I had just witnessed a major milestone. I jumped up and down in joy. It definitely made my day.

Signing - Shana can sign a few things now. The first sign she learned was milk. She also knows "eat" and "more".

Mama - About a couple of weeks ago, Shana started saying "Mmmm..." when Mommy came to pick her up at the daycare. Now, she says "Mmmma" pretty much every time she sees Mommy and wants Mommy to hold her. She obviously knows who the important person is. We are trying to teach her to say "daddy" but no success yet. She definitely associates the word with the right person though. Shana turns to daddy when I ask where Daddy is.

Pulling up - Last Monday, Shana pulled herself up! We lowered the crib that day so she does not fall out of the crib.

The first tooth - Yes, it's almost here! It's not out yet, but there is a big white bump on the lower front gum.

Hair - Yes, she has hair now!

Well, that's it for now.

We will post some pictures soon.

Wow, she has been busy! Great to hear the wonderful news of Shana's development. Regarding the signing, Camille loves a series called Signing Time (http://www.signingtime.com/). We've been lucky as this is available through our local library. It's also a great crash course for parents.
